Annie with what was called a Bishops Bash.

Aid Refugees in
Building New Lives

of l998 when our rector, the Rev. David Bateman, responded
to a call from Bridge Refugee Services asking if the members
of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Chattanooga, would be interested
in sponsoring a third Bosnian family. (We had assisted in

Legacy Society for endowments honors Bishop Tharp
Bishop Tharps longstanding dream to have an endowment
in every congregation by the year 2000 was the catalyst for
establishing the Bishop Tharp Legacy Society. It is a diocesan
program with a steering committee working in partnership with
the Diocese Planned Giving Resource Team and local churches.
The purpose of the Legacy Society is to support planned giving
programs in the local congregations as they seek to develop

Those who cherish the familiarity
of the traditional may have experienced something resembling growing
pains as St. Luke, Cleveland, undertook the nearly
half-million dollar restoration of its church. Built in 1872, it is
the second oldest church in downtown Cleveland. [full

Most of us experience
hunger by skipping a meal or snack. Good Samaritan, Knoxville,
youth decided to experience hunger on a larger scale, by fasting for 30
hours. In doing so, these junior high and high school age kids raised
over $1,100 for World Vision. This is an organization whose stated mission
is to work with the poor and oppressed by providing food, medicine, and
