All Saints’ Day School
Begins Capital Campaign

Saturday, April 24, was a day of excitement for All Saints’ Day School, Morsitown. Students, family, parishioners, and friends attended the kickoff and dedication of their “On Good Ground” capital campaign.

The goal of the capital campaign is to fund the first phase of the school’s master plan, construction of a central activity center. The multipurpose facility will accommodate large gatherings for student productions, concerts, sporting events, indoor play, meetings, worship, seasonal celebrations, lectures, group meals, and other community events. This activity center will be the anchor of the new All Saints’ Day School campus. It is designed to provide the focus for future additions, and serve as a cornerstone for growth.

The school began as a ministry of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Morristown more than thirty years ago. Over the years, the school has been blessed with many successes and has grown dramatically. The school now serves 194 children in preschool through eighth grade. It is the only state-approved independent church school in the Lakeway area of east Tennessee.

The reputation of providing a results-oriented and value-centered environment has attracted students of many religious backgrounds to the school. Parents of these students have sought an opportunity for their children that would nurture the whole child – offering a challenging academic program tempered by moral conviction, compassion, and Christian fellowship. This approach appears to works. All Saints’ students consistently outperform their peers on state comprehensive achievement tests. Enrollment at the school has increased by 40 percent in the past two years.

Continued growth appears inevitable; unfortunately, the ability to serve more students is severely limited by current facilities. In an effort to plan for the future possibility of becoming a regional school, All Saints’ Episcopal Church purchased a 40-acre site. A master plan was developed that will eventually allow the school to accommodate up to 480 students with the option of additional expansion if needed.

With continued prayer and diligence, All Saints’ Day School will break ground this summer and be operational at its new site by the fall of 2000. Questions related to All Saints’ Day School expansion plans should be directed to the campaign office (423-586-0338).
