St. Stephen’s, Oak Ridge, Legacy Society Memorials Board Dedicated

by Pam Doty, Editor
Bishop Charles vonRosenberg recently dedicated the new memorials board at St. Stephen’s, Oak Ridge, during his episcopal visit. The board remembers those who have made provision for the longer term future of the church through planned gifts.

These members of the St. Stephen’s Legacy Society have made a gift for the future of St. Stephens from their accumulated assets as part of their estate plan or have made a significant contribution to one of St. Stephen’s Endowment Funds.

Those who make a planned gift as part of their estate plan, whether it is a bequest in their will; a life insurance policy naming the Church as beneficiary; a gift of real property with or without life estate reserved; a gift of appreciated property such as securities or real estate; or a life income gift such as a pooled income fund or a charitable remainder trust are also members of the Bishop Tharp Legacy Society.

Those making gifts to one of St. Stephen’s Endowment Funds after Jan. 15, 1999 (the founding date of the Bishop Tharp Legacy Society) will also be recognized as members of the Diocesan Society.

The endowment fund gifts can be cash, appreciated securities or real property.

If the gift or provision for a planned gift is received on or before March 31, 2000, the giver will be recognized as a Founding Member of the Bishop Tharp Legacy Society.
