The East Tennessee Episcopalian  May 2000

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:
In your recent edition of The East Tennessee Episcopalian I happily note that the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund provided an initial grant of $15,000 to assist victims in the floods in Mozambique. I hasten to add that our (ECUSA) relief and development fund, The Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief, was also there immediately with an initial grant of $25,000.

It is very simple for members of the Episcopal Church to send their gifts for Mozambique and other disaster areas to the Fund at the following address:
Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief
c/o Banker's Trust Company
Box 12043
Newark NJ 07101

You will be interested in knowing that last year gifts from The Diocese of East Tennessee were in excess of $90,000. The previous year was $30,000+.

Thank you for your continued interest. The Fund seeks to serve people throughout the world in response to our Baptismal Covenant. It is your Fund and extends your ministries both at home and in far flung places.
