Two From Diocese Elected to Faith Alive Board Neal A. Robinson, M.D. of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Chattanooga has been elected Vice Chairman and James D. Shearouse, Jr. of St. Alban's in Hixson has been elected a member of the Board of Directors of Faith Alive, a national Episcopal ministry which conducts in-parish weekend programs of spiritual renewal. The organization of approximately 7,000 members nationwide has held more than 2,000 Faith Alive Weekends in churches throughout the country and abroad since its inception in 1970. The Weekend, aimed at bringing fresh focus to one's vows of baptism and confirmation, includes music worship, as well as programs for teenagers and children. Robinson and his wife, Beverly who is a former board of directors member, have coordinated numerous Faith Alive Weekends in throughout the United States. He has also led music worship and been involved in the youth ministry of Faith Alive. The Robinson recently coordinated a Faith Alive Weekend at St. Francis of Assisi in Tallahassee, FL. He succeeds Thomas C. LaNoue of New Braunfels, TX, who was elevated to Chairman of the 24-member Board. Shearouse serves as Diocesan Representative of Faith Alive and has served on numerous Faith Alive and Cursillo teams. He is an EFM Mentor, and has served as delegate to diocesan conventions and deputy to General Conventions. Other officers elected during the Board meeting May 31 and June 1 at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC, were Charles M. Howe, Coronado, CA, Secretary; and Edward W. Poitras, Haines City, FL, Treasurer. |
