Diocesan ECW Fall Gathering Set

Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of East Tennessee are invited to attend a gathering for fellowship and fun to be held at St. John's Cathedral, Knoxville on Sept. 11. There will be three programs available as well as lunch time to renew acquaintances and make new ones.

The schedule:

• 9:30 Registration
• 10:00 Holy Eucharist, Bishop vonRosenberg celebrating
• There will be recognition of the UTO Ingatherings at the service.
• 11:15 to 12:15 Three programs run concurrently:
  1. A presentation on the Cathedrals of England visited by the Rev. John Ross, Dean of St. John's Cathedral.
  2. A video tour of our new Diocesan Camp and Conference Center. This is a good place to get ideas for how your individual congregations can utilize the center for parish retreats, youth retreats and planning sessions. It may be ideal for your next vestry retreat. The possibilities are almost endless!
  3. The Labyrinth in the courtyard between the cathedral and Diocesan House will be available for you to walk. Instruction will be available for those of you who have not experienced this very absorbing way of being removed from daily concerns and nurtured by meditation on the life of our Lord, a favorite scripture or other inspirational writings.
     
• 12:15 Lunch will be served.
  There is a charge of $10 for lunch for women attending. There will be no charge for any clergy attending, HOWEVER we do need to know how many are coming so there will be sufficient provision for lunch. Please encourage the clergy in your congregation to attend. They may get some new ideas for using the conference center or be inspired to lead a group from your congregation on a tour of religious sites in England or elsewhere in Europe, or Asia, perhaps?
