TEast Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo Number 27K by Dick Schier, Lay Rector, ETEC 27e Cursillistas know this prayer as the one with which we begin so many of our personal times of prayer and sharing, of our own cursillo weekend, of our Group Reunions, of our Ultreyas. So, yes, this prayer is one often used by the Worldwide Christian Church, but it is one that will forever be special to those of us with this wonderful common bond. And it is with this prayer that we begin our journey together to a new cursillo weekend. East Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo Number 27 - ETEC-27 - will take place Thursday October 18 through Sunday October 21, 2001, at Camp Carson, near Newport, Tennessee. We are beginning the process of assembling our team right now, and we look for cursillistas who are led to give of their time, their talents, their love, their prayers, to share with candidates and each other the Love of Christ, to be His Servants ... His Instruments. If you feel led to join this ministry, please contact Dick Schier via eMail RSchier461@aol.com or by phone 423.892.3608. But while a few of us will be serving in this very special way at Camp Carson on that weekend, the truth is that ALL of us are "On Team." The ETEC-27 Team Members are only the tip of the iceberg that extends so deeply in every direction, through an ocean of prayer, through your financial support, through your palanca thoughts and gifts, through special efforts. All of us are a Team, and a vitally important part of our Team effort is to identify, pray about, talk to and possibly sponsor those who could spiritually benefit from making a cursillo. It is not too early to begin that process. Pray for your potential candidate. Invite him or her to your local Ultreya. Tell them what cursillo has meant to you. Fill out and send in those application forms to our registrar, Deb Lebby at: East Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo For application forms via regular mail, call, e-mail, or mail your request to:
To receive an application via eMail, send your request to: RSchier461@aol.com. We want to be able to provide the best team we can for the candidates, so it is important for us to know what to expect as to numbers and then plan accordingly. Be sure to tell your Parish Volunteer about your potential candidate so that we can add him or her to our count. Above all, please pray for us, for the cursillo movement in our Diocese, for our gathering ETEC-27 Team Members, and for all our potential sponsors and candidates. |
