Annual ECW Spring
Conference The Rt. Rev. Robert G. Tharp will open the ECW Spring Conference Retreat with a keynote address for the women of the three dioceses of Tennessee on Friday, April 27. Following registration and dinner, Bishop Tharp will set the tone for this annual two day Conference, entitled "The Gift of Joy and Wonder in All God's Works." As always, the keynote address will be followed by the unique experience of being able to "grill" bishops from all Tennessee dioceses about absolutely anything. Always an enjoyable and informative session sprinkled throughout with humor; it affords real insight into the personalities of each bishop and the views of all on any subject whatsoever. No one has ever ducked a question. On Saturday morning, after morning prayer and breakfast, the first workshop session offers two choices. The Reverend Bob Hughes, a faculty member in the School of Divinity at Sewanee, will present a session on Lutherans and Episcopalians working together. The other choice is "Joy of Music," presented by Bindy Snyder, a part-time PhD candidate at the University of Wales. She is also a candidate for ordination. The second session offers Marcia Mary Cook on "Performing a Chancel Drama." The Chancel Drama is a moving experience. Perhaps this is something to be taken back to home parishes ! After lunch on Saturday, there is a choice of a tour of the new Church of the Apostles with Dean Guy Lytle, a tour of All Saints Chapel, or an Exploring Sewanee Tour. Of course, exploration on your on is a possibility. Dinner Saturday evening is at a local restaurant with Sister Lucy as the speaker. Sister Lucy never fails to treat. The weekend conference and retreat ends Sunday with Holy Eucharist at All Saints' Chapel, Sewanee and breakfast at DuBose. You just cannot ask for better than that. See the Diocesan ECW page for more information and Registration Form. |
