All Saints' Choirs Sing at National Cathedral The combined choirs of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Morristown, represented the state of Tennessee by singing at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, October 27. All three of All Saints' choirs travelled to the nation's capital. They are: St. Andrew (first through fifth grade), St. Cecelia Choir and Bells (girls sixth grade through high school) and the adult choir. Minister of Music, Paul Cunningham, led the trip. The Episcopal Churchwomen of All Saints' recognized that there was a real need to offer support and financial assistance to these wonderful choristers. There were several families with multiple voices participating, sisters, brothers, and parents. The women organized one "Dinner with the Choirs" a month as a means of raising funds to assist them with their finances. The response from the members of the parish, as well as other local supporters, has been overwhelming. Each month's theme was different. September was an Italian evening with music, candlelight, and Roman foods. October was a German Oktober fest with authentic Germanic foods. November will be a Mexican dinner, and December will be a French one. Choir members, whether big or small, serve as waiters or kitchen help. |
