Walk the Labyrinth at St. John’s Cathedral
St. John's Cathedral is very blessed to have a stone labyrinth in its courtyard. They invite the people of the diocese to come use this spiritual tool.

The labyrinth is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. till 4:30 p.m., and on evenings when there are scheduled church activities. It is also available on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to experience the labyrinth during these times.

If you would like to bring a group of people to walk the labyrinth during these times or other times, we ask that you call ahead.

Please contact Lois Ross, Labyrinth coordinator (ross@es.knoxville.org), to schedule a time.

Please be prepared to provide her with the number of people you are planning to bring, the preferred time you would like to come, and whether or not you would like a guide to be present.

East Tennessee Episcopal Cursillo Number 28
(ETEC-28) will be held June 20 through 23 at the Hurt Retreat Center, Johnston Woods, near Cleveland, Tennessee.

Cursillo, “a short course in Christianity,” is designed to renew and energize Christians. The weekend is all about faith and community and responsibility. It is an exploration of ways to walk closer to God with the support of fellow Christians.

If you are interested in taking part in the upcoming event, contact your priest or someone who has participated in a Cursillo weekend. Candidates must be registered for ETEC-28 by May 20.

Cursillo is an exciting time of spiritual growth and the members of the ETEC-28 team have asked for your prayers for the candidates and for the team.

Volunteers Needed for Medical Mission
Drs. Richard and Virginia Updegraff of St. Raphael's, Crossville, are seeking volunteers for a medical mission to Belize this summer. The Rt. Rev. Sylvestre Donato Romero-Palma, Anglican Bishop of Belize, has obtained approval of the Minister of Health and the local health authorities for a one week clinic in Placencia, a southern coastal town, and Monkey River. The Anglican congregation and the Rev. Jerry Jones in Placencia will assist in this project. The trip is scheduled for June 17-24.

The team needs one to two doctors, two nurses, and a pharmacist. They also need a priest who will serve as spiritual director for the week, others who can assist with health education and general helpers. Physicians will need to send a copy of their medical diploma and license at least two months prior to the trip. Volunteers will be expected to cover their own expenses for travel and accommodations. For further information, please contact Drs. Richard and Virginia Updegraff at Box 308, Pleasant Hill, TN 38578; phone: 931.277.5727 or vupde@citlink.net.

The mission is sponsored by the Episcopal Medical Mission Foundation.
