Our friends have begun to show up to enjoy General Convention - and what a super experience to look up as one is rushing between meetings or returning from the communion station to see Martha and Carroll Sterne, the Deierhois, the Minors and James Johnson (who has been here since last Saturday attending all meetings, hearings and sessions).

Today was rich and interesting. We got much more accomplished in legislative session. One of the resolutions from the Special Commission on the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion was passed regarding [their] interdependence. We welcomed the fabulous youth presence and discussed world mission, consecration of bishops and church structure. Many attended a Program, Budget and Finance Funding hearing and some a panel with Sen. John Danforth. I came back to the room to prepare for an early morning executive session of the Consecration of Bishops committee where we will interview bishop-elect of Northern California, Barry Beisner.

Our hearts are very heavy tonight upon hearing of the death of our dear friend Jerry Martin in Chattanooga. Prayers and love go to Joel King and so many at St. Paul's who have lost a precious person.

Presiding Bishop Griswold preached again - we've heard him twice so far - and he also appeared in an interview on Larry King Live tonight along with Bishop Gene Robinson, Canon David Anderson (AAC) and representatives from other denominations about the Christian Church and homosexuality. I watched it and found it so interesting that I may stay up and watch the re-run.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for this great deputation. These people are incredible!
