The Tennessee Association of Episcopal Schools (TAES) exists to assist
the diocesan Standing Committees by certifying those schools in the
three Tennessee dioceses that are entitled to be called Episcopal Schools.
TAES also promotes networking and fellowship among rectors, school heads,
chaplains, school board members, and other school leaders through our
annual meeting held in the fall. We met in 2000 at St. Andrew's-Sewanee
School, Sewanee, Tennessee. Our special guest at our gathering was The
Rev. David S. Luckett, retired headmaster of All Saints' Episcopal School,
Vicksburg, Mississippi. David offered reflections based upon his extensive
experiences both as a parish rector and as a head of school.
In order to promote compassion, respect, and responsibility in our
Episcopal Schools, TAES has initiated the Service/Outreach Grant Program.
We expect to announce the recipients of these grants early this year.
By this program of modest awards, we hope, over time, to gather a compendium
of useful models to inspire us toward higher levels of reaching out
in service and fellowship.
Besides myself, officers of TAES include The Rev. Michael Robinson,
Vice Chair; Ms. Emily Dodson, Treasurer; and Ms. Kathy Lanza, Secretary.
The following organizations are currently on the TAES list of certified
schools:
St. Peter's School, Chattanooga
St. Nicholas' School, Chattanooga
